BioMARatona is part of the Brazilian Citizen Science Network

BioMARatona, a citizen science initiative that is part of the ANERIS project, is now officially a member of the Portuguese Citizen Science Network, a nationwide community involved in diverse citizen science initiatives and projects across Portugal. Being part of this nationally recognised movement will bring various benefits as it broadens the project’s outreach and attracts more participation in citizen science events, contributing to a more sustainable and collaborative future for marine science.

The Portuguese Citizen Science Network brings together the academic and scientific communities, as well as the business sector, non-governmental organisations and civil  society together, promoting knowledge exchange and best practices in the field. It serves a single access point for citizen scientists and other participatory science projects, with the main objective to support and further promote citizen science activities and practices. Operating openly, it is organised in several working groups responsible for addressing the needs identified by the community involved.

We are extremely happy to be part of this movement and eager to continue promoting, supporting, and disseminating citizen science initiatives!
