ANERIS members catch up at the bi-annual progress meeting

On Tuesday, 19 November, ANERIS held its bi-annual progress meeting. Consortium members gathered online and shared the work they have accomplished in the last 6 months and the next steps of their respective teams for the last year of the project. The meeting covered recent advancements in the work of the four case studies, in addition to the challenges that the consortium has faced.

With the robust citizen science activities carried out in the project, the major success of the 2025 bioblitzes in Case Study 3, the sampling campaign in Case Study 2, the operation of the underwater observatories and the development of new technologies in Case Study 1, and the first utilization of the biodiversity monitoring kits in Case Study 4, the project has had a very active and fruitful summer–autumn season.

Besides the four case studies, Work Packages 1, 5, and 6 had the floor to share their updates and future plans for the rest of the year and the beginning of the next one.

As the project enters its last year, the focus is now on the legacy it can leave. The project coordinator, Jaume Piera, channeled the attention of the ANERIS consortium members on the Operational Marine Biology (OMB) products their work has produced and how they can ensure the further exploitation and utilisation of the ANERIS output.
