ANERIS’ final Annual Meeting is just around the corner

ANERIS’ final Annual Meeting is just around the corner

The final Annual ANERIS gathering is on the horizon. It will take place from 27th May until 28th May, in Barcelona, Spain. The meeting will host all consortium partners, case study leaders, and ANERIS Advisory Board members.

Organised by the coordination institution, ICM-CSIC, the gathering will feature presentations of the project case studies, showing the most recent advancements and results . The sessions will cover project overview, all case study updates, and outcomes, including time for informal discussions and networking between participants.

Throughout its duration, ANERIS has successfully developed and worked on 4 case studies. Case study 1 aims to create continuous marine life observations by using both ANERIS technologies and commercial instruments. The lead partners in it are: VLIZ, Sorbonne University, UPC, Marine Institute Foras na Mara, CytoBuoy, OsloMet, and University of Haifa

The second case study’s main aim is to enhance and expand the existing network of monitoring based on genomics. It includes HCMR, VLIZ, and NORCE as lead partners. CSIC, Quanta, Marsbased, Dribba, HCMR, BIOPOLIS, MedCities, and FECDAS are leading partners in case study 3, which investigates and focuses on ‘Large scale marine participatory actions (bioblitzes).’

And the final case study which focuses on combining imaging and genomic information to attempt improving biodiversity monitoring across diverse coastal habitats has BIOPOLIS, HCMR, CSIC, and the rest of the consortium for leading partners.

To ensure a smooth work and collaboration between case studies, a co-design approach will be  an Advisory Board meeting, organised by Science for Change and Punsoft Publishers.

This final meeting gives the chance to all consortium to gather and discuss not only the hard work done so far and the positive outcomes of it, but also the road ahead for all ANERIS developments, as well as the future of marine biodiversity.
